Medical Diagnostic Services was founded in 1988 by Stanley G. Tufts, Jr., Ph.D., and Harry Yasayko, M.D. Dr. Tufts and Dr. Yasayko started MDS to fill the need for quality Independent Medical Examinations in the Puget Sound area. Dr. Tufts has always been President of MDS. |

In the early years William Backlund, M.D., Orthopedic Surgeon, now serving in the Washington State Legislature as a Representative from the Redmond area was our Medical Director. Dr. Backlund also performed our first examination as a new company offering medical services. Following Dr. Backlund, Rufino Ramos, M.D., Psychiatrist was Medical Director. |

In the early 1990's, Dr. Yasayko decided to serve as medical director. Dr. Yasayko guided our company as a professional medical organization until he decided to retire and sell his share of the corporation to Dr. Tufts. |
Robert Kaufmann, M.D., Orthopedic Surgeon,, served as Medical Director from 1994 through 1996. John Maxwell, M.D., Neurosurgeon,was medical director in 1997 and 1998. Michael Olejar, M.D., M.S., Board Certified in Internal Medicine, has been our Medical Director since 1998. |
Long term stability in our employees has always been a priority. We would like to commend four who have been with us for over a decade, Danny Braun , Jeannie Austin, Charles Austin, and Kirby Storbeck. We have been fortunate to work with some of the finest physicians in the Puget Sound area. As of September 1, 2001, all services will be billed at the following rates: |

We currently have 5 offices. Our original office was in Bellevue. To meet increased demand for our services, a branch office was opened in Tacoma in 1989, and was moved to Fife in 1990. A Seattle office followed in 1991, and an office in Federal Way in 1997. The Ravensdale Administrative office was opened in 1995 and was moved in with our Fife office in 2002. |
Dr. Tufts has guided MDS through many changes in the requirements of our clients, technology, and laws since our founding in 1988, however our commitment to producing quality objective Independent Medical Examinations has not changed in that time. We look forward to continuing to help our clients and patients in the future. |
